Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plant growth promoter capable of not only increasing the amount of chlorophyll in the plant but also the dry weight of plant, preventing the plant from an injury during growing thereof, imparting the low temperature resistance thereto and accelerating the striking of roots thereof for this purpose, and to provide a method for growing the plant.
SOLUTION: This plant growth promoter contains a blue pigment consisting of a compound expressed by the formula: MFe[Fe(CN)6] (M is an alkali metal or ammonium group, one of the two Fe groups is divalent and the other is 3-valent) as a main ingredient and a substance capable of making an easy penetration into the plant tissue by changing a cuticula in the surface layer of the plant body, and preferably the substance is urea. A concentrated stock solution is prepared by adding a surfactant and a solvent to the blue pigment and the above substance, diluted to 5-20 times and then sprayed to raising plant seedlings.
