Plant growth regulators which contain, as the active substance, an azolylacetophenone oxime ether of the formula (I) …… in which R and R<1> are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphonyl, halogenoalkyl, nitro, cyano, phenyl or phenoxy, R<2> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical, an arylalkyl radical, an allyl radical or a propargyl radical, R<3> is a diradical of the formula -(CH2)m- or of the formula -(CH2CH2O-)nCH2CH2- or of the formula -(CH2)v-CH=CH-(CH2)t- or of the formula -(CH2)v-C=C-(CH2)t-, n, p, u, v and t independently of one another are the numbers 1, 2 or 3, m represents the integers from 2 to 10, and Az is 1-(1,2,4-triazolyl) or 1-pyrazolyl or 1-imidazolyl, or its salts or complex compounds, and methods for regulating the growth of plants or for destroying undesirable plants by means of these active substances.
