To provide a plant recognizing a substance existing in a variety of pathogenic bacteria to induce a strong protective response reaction or a disease resistant reaction.
Disclosed are a chimeric gene strongly inducing a protective response reaction such as chitin-specific HR cell death in plant cells, an expression vector comprising the gene, and plant cells, plant tissue, plants and seeds comprising these substances, wherein the gene is a gene encoding an extracellular domain-transmembrane (TM) domain-JM domain-kinase domain-type chimeric receptor comprising an intracellular domain which comprises a kinase domain and a juxtamembrane (JM) domain of a non-RD kinase protein, and comprising an extracellular domain of a rice plant CEBiP or its functionally homologous protein.
