Abstract:
To provide a plasma actuator which efficiently diffuses a jet flow.SOLUTION: A plasma actuator includes a pair of electrodes, a dielectric body arranged between the electrodes, a voltage applying device which applies a voltage to the electrodes and a voltage controlling part which controls application of the voltage to the electrodes by means of the voltage applying device. Therein, the voltage controlling part repeats an application period for controlling application of a voltage to the electrodes and performing control of a first state, a limit non-application period for performing control of a second state only for a time in which shear is not generated in an air flow produced in the application period, after the application period, a plurality of short application periods for performing the control of the first state only for a time shorter than the application period and a non-application period for performing the control of the second state of the number in accordance with the number of the short application periods, by using the first state in which the voltage is applied to the electrodes and the second state in which the voltage is not applied to the electrodes or a voltage lower than the voltage applied on the electrodes is applied in the first state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
