To provide a plasma cleaning device attached to a hand iron body, which decomposes and removes smell and dirt attached to clothes without using chemicals or washing agents.
The hand iron type cleaning device 1 is provided with an inlet to take in steam jetting out from the bottom surface of a base 6, a pair of metal electrodes producing plasma, and an outlet discharging radical or the like produced by the exposing to plasma. The steam taken in from the inlet is introduced across the pair of parallel-plate type metal electrodes, which are connected to a plasma generating power to produce a plasma discharge across the pair of metal electrodes by the impressing of the predetermined electric field. The steam taken in from the inlet is exposed to the plasma, by which hydroxyl radical is formed. The produced hydroxyl radical is discharged from the outlet toward a material to be washed.
