PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of a plasma torch.SOLUTION: A plasma generation device comprises: a graphite plasma torch 10; and supply means (an operation gas source 16, a pipe 18, and a valve 20) which supplies the plasma torch 10 with operation gas for generating plasma. The plasma torch 10 is provided with through-holes H1 to H4, which function as flow paths for the operation gas supplied by the supply means, in such a manner that they extend along the longitudinal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
