To provide plasma welding equipment where timing in a shift from a pilot arc to a plasma arc is suitably detected, and the quantity of the heat to be applied to a weldment is correctly controlled.
The plasma welding equipment is provided with: a plasma torch 1 outputting plasma to the object to be welded; a power source part 2 feeding electric power to the plasma torch; a control part 3 controlling the power source part; and a pilot arc power source part 4 feeding the electric power of a pilot arc to the plasma torch, a detecting means 5 detecting whether a shift from the pilot arc to the plasma arc is caused or not is provided, and the control part 3 measures a prescribed time after the shift from the pilot arc to the plasma arc in accordance with a detected signal from the detecting means 5, and stops the feed of the electric powder to the plasma torch after the passage of a prescribed time. The quantity of the heat to be applied to a weldment can fixedly be controlled.
