PURPOSE: To prepare a plaster having excellent slow-releasability of drug component, and capable of maintaining the drug effect for a long period, by forming a polymer layer containing the drug component and an ion exchange resin which forms ionic bond to a part of said drug, on a drug-impermeable substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A drug-impermeable substrate 1 such as synthetic resin film, a closed-cell foamed sheet, etc. is coated with a polymer layer 2 consisting of a polymer composition containing a drug component and optionally a release assistant substance, and an ion exchange resin capable of forming ionic bond with said drug. The drug is, e.g. corticosteroid, antibiotic substance, anesthetic agent, etc. The ion exchange resin is, e.g. a copolymer of divinylbenzene and sodium styrenesulfonate. The amount of the ion exchange resin is restricted to a relatively low level to form the ionic bonds only with a part of the drug.
