PURPOSE: To obtain a plastic lens having high refractive index in which inteference fringes are hardly seen even when a primer layer or both of a primer layer and hard coating layer are formed on a plastic base body, by forming the primer layer having almost same refractive index as the refractive index of the plastic lens base body.
CONSTITUTION: Since the refractive index of the plastic lens base is 1.49-1.65. the primer layer is controlled to 1.49-1.65. Namely, to obtain almost same refractive index of the primer layer as that of the plastic lens base, the difference of the refractive index is specified to 0.03 absolute value, preferably smaller than 0.01. Thickness of the primer layer is controlled to 0.05-5μm, preferably 0.2-3μm. If the film thickness is smaller than 0.05μm, a function as a shock absorbing layer can not be obtd. enough. If it exceeds 5μm, scratching resistance of the hard coating layer decreases as well as the heat resistance and profile irregulatity of the primer layer decrease.
