To provide a plastic optical fiber cable having excellent adhesion property between a primary coated optical fiber and a coating material and having a low thermal shrinkage.
The plastic optical fiber cable comprises a plastic primary coated optical fiber having a single layer or a multilayer of a sheath material layered on the periphery of the core material, and at least one layer of a coating layer formed on the primary coated optical fiber via an adhesion layer. In the plastic optical fiber cable, the outermost layer of the sheath consists of a resin composition (X) which is essentially formed of fluorine-containing olefin resin and has 1.31 to 1.41 refractive index. The adhesion layer consists of a resin composition (Y) which is essentially formed of chlorinated polyolefin resin. The innermost layer of the coating layer consists of a resin composition (Z) which is essentially formed of a polypropylene resin.
