Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a light outside door handle with excellent shock-resistance by forming it with a material bearing a specified volume of glass fiber in a plastic compound composed of polyphenylene ether and polyamide and applying baking paint.
CONSTITUTION: Glass fiber of 5-60 pts.wt. is mixed with a plastic compound composed of polyphenylene ether and polyamide of 100 pts.wt. to obtain a glass fiber-reinforced compound. Next, an outside door handle for cars is formed out of this material and a baking paint is applied on the surface. In this way, a plastic door handle, which is excellent in weight, rigidity, and shock resistance, can be obtained.
