PURPOSE: To obtain plastic product gradually releasing active chlorine for a long period of time with gradually dissolving or decomposing a specific solid-like chlorine-containing compound in water or atmospheric air by mixing the specific solid-like chlorine-containing compound and a synthetic resin with heating and molding.
CONSTITUTION: A solid-like chlorine-containing compound (solid chlorine agent) selected from chloroisocyanuric acid, salts of said acid and calcium hypochlorite is mixed with a synthetic resin with heating and the resultant mixture is molded to afford a plastic product having sustained releasing property of active chlorine. Said product has a structure of solid chlorine agent having the surface covered with synthetic resin. In leaving said product in water or atmospheric air, water or moisture gradually penetrates into very small gap between the synthetic resin and the solid chlorine agent, then the solid chlorine agent is dissolved or decomposed at a very slow speed, thus active chlorine is gradually released into water or atmospheric air. Therefore, said product is useful as deodorant, bacteria-repellent or cleaning agent, etc.
