Abstract:
PURPOSE: To constitute a rivet for securing a second workpiece to a first workpiece, to be preassembled to the second workpiece and prevent the infiltration of moisture from the outside.
CONSTITUTION: A rivet for securing a second workpiece 64 to a first workpiece 68 comprises a hollow shank portion 12 and a prong 13. The hollow shank portion 12 comprises a first flange 30 with an outer edge protrusion 38 and a sealing edge 36, a second flange 40, an axial passage 18, a slot 16 and an inclined face portion 26. The passage has a downward narrowed constriction 20 having an internal thread 54. The prong 13 comprises an external thread 52, an annular sealing rib 60, a flange-like head 56 and a hexagonal socket 58.
