To provide a low cost plastic seal for a bearing to be firmly fitted in a seal groove, having excellent sealing performance with reduced deformation of an outer ring, and to provide a mounting method thereof.
A plastic seal 10 has a V-shaped fitting part 11 approximately in a V-shape in cross section formed in the outer periphery of a annular disc- form plastic disc and fitted in the seal groove 5a of a bearing outer ring 5, and the fitting part 11 has a laser beam receiving surface 13. When the fitting part is mounted, by irradiating the laser beam receiving surface 13 with laser beams 14, an irradiation local part is instantaneously heated to a plastic moldable temperature and immediately pressurized and fitted in the seal groove 5a as local deformation is carried out.
