Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic slit sleeve for an optical connector adequate for connection of a single mode fiber and a process for producing the same.
SOLUTION: This plastic slit sleeve A for the optical connector having a slit 1 is formed by injection molding a resin compsn. contg. a resin compsn. of ≤1.5 in the value of the anisotropy of the resin expressed by the ratio of the property values of the flow direction of the resin when the resin is injection molded and the direction perpendicular thereto, more preferably the ratio of the moduli of elasticity in bending by using metal molds having a cavity part to determine the outside diameter of molded articles and a core pin which is integrated with the slitting parts to regulate the slit part and to determine the inside diameter of molded articles. The resin compsn. described above includes at least one kind of the resins selected from, for example, a polyether imide resin, polyether sulfone resin and epoxy resin and at least one kind of the inorg. materials selected from single crystal inorg. acicular resins and quartz fine powder.
