Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a plasticizing resin, an aqueous dispersion of a cationic resin suitable for use in cathodic electrodeposition, and their manufacture.
CONSTITUTION: This plasticizing resin is manufactured by reacting a polyoxyalkylene polyamine, phenol, and formaldehyde. The reactants may further contain a block building unit derived from a polyepoxide. If the resin is used together with a conventional electrodeposition resin, a cohered film having improved mechanical property and decreased cratering tendency is obtd.
