Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an adequate hermetic sealing effect and to prevent a soln. of a cephalosporin deriv. from clouding by using plastic having polar molecular groups in covering plugs for injection vials and infusion vials for β-lactam antibiotics. CONSTITUTION: The plugs or plug sockets are coated with soft films consisting of the plastic having the polar molecular groups, for example, cellophane, polyamide, polyester, polyurethane or acetyl cellulose, by which the sufficient sealing is obtd., the drilling or closing of a hole again after the removal of a needle or infusion element is easy and the production of the plugs to prevent the β- lactam antibiotics as dry materials from turning to a clouded soln. is made possible. The hermetic effect of the plugs completely or partially coated by this method is extremely good and the plugs well withstand the sterilization using, for example, gaseous formaldehyde, in the same manner as for the sterilization in an autoclave.
