Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method of a thermal expansion valve having a diaphragm capable of withstanding repeated stresses to a satisfactory extent even when the repeated stresses are applied to the base portion of the diaphragm induced by the operation of the thermal expansion valve.
CONSTITUTION: An opening section is installed to the central part of a diaphragm in order to integrate the diaphragm 20 which constitutes a power element section of a thermal expansion valve with a temperature sensing responding material 17. Also, a cylinder-shaped rising section 25 having a fixed height is installed to the opening section. The height of the rising section 25 must be selected from a dimension which does not allow the heat applied to the tip of the rising section 25 to lower the strength of the base of the rising section 25. The outer peripheral part of the temperature sensing responding material 17 is inserted into the inner peripheral par of the rising section 25. A reinforcing member 26 is combined with the outside of the rising section 25. They are welded after each of their upper ends is arranged properly.
