PURPOSE: To prevent thick frost formation on upstream sides of plate fins for enhancement of a heat transfer performance by appropriately positioning heat- transfer pipes relative to plate fins in a direction of air flow.
CONSTITUTION: A large number of plate fins 1a are arranged in parallel to one another in a vertical direction, and a plurality of heat-transfer pipes 2 are arranged horizontally relative to the plate fins 1a. A large number of louvers 4 are provided between the heat-transfer pipes 2 on the plate fins 1a. A relationship 11>12, is specified where a distance between a center of the heat-transfer pipe 2 and an upstream end of the plate fin 1a in a direction of air flow is 11, and a distance between a center of the heat-transfer pipe 2 and a downstream end of the plate fin 1a is 12.
