To provide a plate making device configured to reduce a master remaining amount in a master end, and to ensure plate making of a master during plate making till the last without fail, even if detecting an end of a master roll on the way of plate making.
The plate making device includes: a master supporting member 19 for supporting a master 30 so as to be able to pay out the master 30 from a master roll 30A; a thermal head 21 for performing plate making of a thermoplastic resin film plane of the master 30; a platen roller 20 for conveying the master 30 while bringing the master into contact with the thermal head 21; a cutter 22 for cutting the master 30 subjected to the plate making; a master storage part 80 for storing the master 30 between the platen roller 20 and the master supporting member 19 while flexing the master 30; and a master end detection sensor 82 disposed in the master storage part 80 and detecting the end of the master 30. A distance C of a master flexing route from a master cutting position by the cutter 22 to the locating position of the master end detection sensor 82 is at least a length of one master plate required for the printing part 2.
