To obtain the plate-making method of a planographic plate and an automatic developing machine that at least one developing condition from among the temperature of developer, developing time, the rubbing pressure of the planographic plate and rubbing density is always properly set in accordance with the thickness, plate size and plate kind or the like of a PS plate at developing of the PS plate for an infrared ray laser, and also the possibility of causing a loss, because the developing condition set is different due to a wrong operation or the like is eliminated at the time of inputting plate information, such as plate thickness and a plate kind and the processing efficiency is improved.
At least either of the plate thickness and the plate kind of the PS plate inputted to a plate setter 14 is obtained on-line, by the processor controlling part 30 of the automatic developing machine 16, and at least one condition out of the temperature of the developer at the inside of a developing tank, the developing time, the rubbing pressure and the rubbing density of the planographic plate is decided by using at least either of the plate kind and the plate of the PS plate obtained, so that a PS plate processor 16 is controlled to obtain a decided condition.
