PURPOSE: To prevent distortion and cracking substrates due to stamping, by providing a specific width of openings for material absorption beforehand when recessed collecter terminal welds are stamped, to a material-plate member for a battery plate.
CONSTITUTION: A plate material 1 for a battery plate can provide six positive electrode 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 by cutting along the imaginary lines. In the position electrode, collector terminal welds 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a, and 7a are formed as recesses prior to stamping, and neighboring positive electrodes 2 and 3, and, 5 and 6 are stamped to make two collector terminal welds 2a and 3a, and, 5a and 6a at the same time. In this case, by providing openings 8 and 9 for material absorption with specific widths at the positions the recessed collector terminal welds are formed, beforehand, an expansion in the surface direction of the material by the pressure to the material can be absorbed. Consequently, distortion and cracking of the plate and cutting of the recessor the like due to stamping can be prevented.
