Abstract:

To enhance strength, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance in the intermediate temperature range of a plate refractory for a sliding nozzle.

The unfired plate refractory is obtained by using a fire-resistance inorganic material, 0.3-2 mass% of a carbonaceous powder raw material, and 3-15 mass% of at least one kind of aluminum-containing metal having a melting point of ≤1,000°C, and adding 2-5 mass% of an organic binder thereto. Herein, the mass of carbon originated from the organic binder and the carbonaceous powder raw material is made to fall within the range of 0.2-0.45 times of the mass of aluminum contained in an aluminum-containing alloy, thereby enhancing the strength, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance of the plate refractory for the sliding nozzle in the intermediate temperature range.
