To provide a plate regeneration type printing press wherein a plate regeneration device is provided on a printing press having a plate cylinder and a blanket cylinder and to compactly impart plate regeneration function of high accuracy to an existing printing press.

In the plate regeneration device (19) provided to the printing press (10), an image line material coating device (14) is provided above the plate cylinder (11) and a plate surface treatment device (13) is provided under the plate cylinder (11) while a writing device (16) and a plate surface treatment device (15) are provided between them. Therefore, the mixing of impurities with the image line material formed to the substrate of the plate cylinder can be avoided and the plate cylinder (11) can be made compact. As a result, even if the plate regeneration device (19) is arranged on the existing printing press, an increase in the size of the printing press can be prevented. Further, since the plate surface treatment device using a large amount of a solution is provided at the lowermost part, the writing device or a washing device can not be contaminated.
