Abstract:

To provide a plate thickness control method for improving thickness accuracy by preventing excessive variation in thickness even when rolling speed varies in the case where an original plate before rolling is wound into a coil and hardness varies at individual coil of the original plate.

In this plate thickness controlling method, when a rolled material W is rolled by using a rolling mill 1 provided with a plurality of rolling stands 2, plate thickness is controlled while using a feedback plate thickness control system. The feedback plate thickness control system is so designed that resonance frequency of the feedback plate thickness control system becomes smaller than the frequency of hardness variation caused by hardness variation existing in the longitudinal direction of the rolled material W, and by using the designed feedback plate thickness control system, the plate thickness of the rolled material W is controlled.
