PURPOSE: To prevent any breakage of areas where electrode-supporting members are fused to a sealing glass which might be caused due to temperature changes caused after fusion by elastically connecting ends of the electrode-supporting members to electrodes and fixing their other end to a sealing glass.
CONSTITUTION: Plate-like electrode leads 4 and 4 made of the same material as a pair of electrodes 3, are connected to side walls 3b and 3b of the electrodes 3 i which are located on the side of an exhaust tube 1a. The electrode leads 4 and 4 are curved almost perpendicular and extend parallel to the axes of the electrodes 3. The curved areas of the leads 4 and 4 are elastic. Electrode-supporting plates 5 and 5 connected to the other side walls 3c and 3c are also curved almost perpendicularly and the curved areas of the plates 5 and 5 are also elastic. The electrode leads 4 and 4 and the electrode-supporting plates 5 and 5 are fused and fixed to a pair of sealing glasses. The mechanical stress produced in areas where the electrode leads 4 and 4 and the electrode-supporting plates 5 and 5 are fused to the sealing glasses is absorbed by causing the electrodes 3 to be supported elastically. Consequently, it is not possible that a crack develops in the sealing glasses.
