To provide a plate type heat exchanger and its manufacturing method in which its manufacturing or assembling can be easily carried out and its cost can be reduced.
There is provided a plate type heat exchanger in which plates 4 having same corrugations and openings 7 at both ends in a longitudinal direction are applied as one set of two plates, their peripheral edges 9 are overlapped to each other to form heat exchanging elements, and a plurality of heat exchanging elements 2 are overlapped to each other with the openings 7 being aligned from each other, wherein heat transfer surfaces of one set of two plates of heat exchanging elements 2 are contacted at notches 5 and the heat transfer surfaces of the heat exchanging elements 2 by themselves are not contacted to each other and have a clearance R2. This clearance R2 is constituted such that a width direction crossing at a right angle with a longitudinal direction of a plane formed by connecting protrusions protruded at the plate heat transfer surface facing the second fluid has a slant angle in respect to a horizontal plane, wherein same wedge-like spacers 10 are inserted into the clearance R2, they are integrally set in a vacuum furnace and can be heated and connected with solder under a state in which a force is applied in an overlapping direction.
