To provide a plate-type heat exchanger used in an evaporator with improved cooling performance by uniformly and thoroughly evaporating refrigerant flowing through each refrigerating chamber to improve cooling of a heat transfer surface.
In a plate-type heat exchanger for use in an evaporator of a refrigerator, which forms a refrigerating cycle with a compressor, an evaporator, a condenser and a throttle mechanism, a refrigerant inlet channel of the heat exchanger is constituted of a horizontal inlet channel 2 and vertical orifices 3 which communicate with each plate channel portion and the horizontal inlet channel 2 is provided with a mixing resistance body 8 for uniformly mixing and dispersing wet vapor of the refrigerant from the throttle mechanism in the horizontal inlet channel 2. The mixing resistance body 8 is preferably a cylindrical body, having a plurality of holes 9 on the periphery thereof arranged in the inlet channel 2 in the longitudinal direction thereof, where the areas of the holes 9 can be made to change stepwise or continuously.
