Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a plated steel sheet for automotive use, etc. which has substantially three plating films; a lower layer having a corrosion preventive function, the uppermost layer of iron or a ferrous alloy and a middle layer of the metal or alloy chemically nobler than iron and by which corrosion resistance and chemical convertibility are satisfied. CONSTITUTION:A plated steel sheet has successively a lower, middle and the uppermost plating films 2, 3, 4 having different functions on a base 1 of a steel material such as a cold rolled steel sheet. Each layer may consist of plural layers in this case. The film 2 consists of, for example, Zn or a Zn alloy such as Zn-Ni or Zn-Fe, and the film 4 consists of Fe-Zn, Fe-Sn, Fe-Mn, etc. The film 4 is intended for forming phosphophyllite having excellent corrosion resistance and adhesion of a paint coated film in the stage of a phosphate treatment as a surface preparation for painting. The film 3 is intended to permit quick dissolution of the film 4 on account of the presence of said film, in which novelty lies.
