Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plated structure capable of obtaining a stable magnesium alloy component by preventing a magnesium alloy base material from being corroded and subjecting the surface to metal plating when magnesium alloy instead of aluminum die cast is used in order to achieve weight saving of various kinds of components.SOLUTION: A method for plating a member mainly including magnesium alloy comprises: subjecting a magnesium alloy base material 1 processed by extrusion molding, etc., to blasting and chemical polishing to remove burrs 1a, etc., formed in the base material 1 to form a polished surface 2; subjecting the polished surface to chemical conversion treatment to form a chemical conversion coating layer 3; electrodeposition-coating a first impregnated resin layer 4 thereon; coating a second impregnated resin layer 5 to bury pinholes 4a formed in the first impregnated resin layer 4; and forming a nickel plating layer 6 by electroless nickel plating on the first impregnated resin layer 4 and the second impregnated resin layer 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
