PURPOSE: To enable a feed action free from a paper jamming caused by a paper stapler part on the edge part of pressure-sensitive paper and superior in reliability by a construction wherein step parts are provided on a printing paper running part of a platen outside a printing range part.

CONSTITUTION: Step parts 6, 7 are provided on a platen 3 outside a printing range 3a of printing paper to be one step lower than the surface of the printing range 3a. In the printing conducted by a printing head 5 with pressure-sensitive paper 4 loaded on the platen 3 constructed as the above, a paper stapler part 4a is pressed down to the step part 6 or 7 when a card holder 1 reaches the paper stapler part 4a. Therefore, in the condition that the projection on the paper stapler part 4a is released to the step part 6 or 7, the pressure-sensitive paper 4 held between the card holder 1 and the platen 3 can be easily fed.
