To enable opening/closing of a door while a guide rail is covered when the guide rail for opening and closing the door is provided at the door side to make a door pocket compact.
In this platform door device, a sliding door type door panel 2, a door pocket panel 3 to store the door panel, and a partition panel 4 provided between each door pocket panel 3 are arranged in one row along the entrance/exit side edge of a platform. The platform door device includes a rail 7 provided on the panel surface along the opening/closing direction of the door panel 2, a cover 18 provided on the door panel 2 to cover the rail 7 and having a hollow passage 19 to communicate with the inner side thereof in the door panel panel-opening/closing direction, and a rail guide 8 provided on the door pocket panel 3 to slidably guide the rail 7. In the opening operation of the door panel 2, a door opening/closing driving device A provided on the door pocket panel 3 and the rail guide 8 pass through the passage 19.
