Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shield parts not requiring plating with superior shape and dimensional accuracy when a member having parts not requiring plating is plated, by fitting plating parts made of a thermally shrinkable material to the parts not requiring plating and by adhering the plating parts to the member by heating. CONSTITUTION:When an Al core 1 composed of an upper cylindrical part 3 of a small diameter, a middle bellowslike part 2 and a lower cylindrical part 4 of a large diameter is partially plated, tubes 5, 6 made of thermally shrinkable polytetrafluoroethylene resin are fitted to parts of the cylindrical parts 3, 4 not requiring plating and the core 1 is heated to 100-200 deg.C to shrink and adhere the tubes 5, 6 to the parts 3, 4. The core 1 is then plated and the tubes 5, 6 are removed. A plated Al core having parts not requiring plating with superior shape and dimensional accuracy can simply be produced without requiring post-treatment.
