To provide a plating removing apparatus for a three-piece wheel, which can easily and neatly remove plating at a welding planned portion of a superimposed part between an inner rim and an outer rim.

The plating removing apparatus functions to remove the plating of the welding planned portion R in a curved outer peripheral surface extended from a cylindrical trunk portion 2b, from the superimposed part 2a between the rims 2A, 2B of the three-piece wheel consisting of the inner rim 2B, the outer rim 2A, and a disk. The plating removing apparatus comprises a support means 11 which rotatively supports the rim 2A, at least three holding rollers 34 which hold the rim supported by the support means 11, from an outer circumferential side, a rotation driving means 67 which drives the rim 2A held by the holding rollers 34, for rotation, and a grinding means which grinds the welding planned portion R of the curved outer peripheral surface of the rim 2A with coated abrasives 13 to remove the plating of the welding planned portion R.
