Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a Pt alloy for an ornament free from pinholes and cracks, having a color tone close to that of Pt, excellent in plastic workability and having a high degree of work hardening by incorporating a specified amt. of Ca or a rare earth element, into a Pt-Pd-Co alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A Pt-Pd-Co alloy such as an alloy consisting of 0.85-14.85wt.% Pd, 1-15wt.% Co and the balance Pi is prepd. and at least one of Ca and a rare earth element, suitably Sm, Eu or Er is incorporated into the alloy by 0.01-1wt.%. One or more kinds of active metals such as Ti, Zr and Hf may further be added to the alloy by 0.01-1wt.% if necessary.
