PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition being useful in the polymerization of heterocyclic compounds catalyzed by platinum and used for e.g. elastomers including room-temperature-vulcanizing ones by mixing a specified heterocyclic compound with an Si-H functional compound and a platinum catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises a heterocyclic compound (A) selected from the group consisting of monomers selected among epoxy functional silicones, epoxy functional acrylic polymers, lactams, tetrahydrofuran, oxetane, lactones, spiro carbonic esters, spiro esters and cyclic sulfur compounds and cyclic nitrogen compounds, an Si-H functional silicon compound (B) and a platinum catalyst (C). It is desirable that component A is an epoxy functional polydiorganosiloxanesilicone of the formula (wherein R is a 1-12C alkyl; R1 is R or a 2-20C monovalent epoxy functional organic group; (a) and (b) are each 0-3; (x) is 1-15; and (y) is 1-200).
