PURPOSE: To obtain a platinum complex (II or IV) which is useful as an antitumor-acting medicine by reacting a tetrahalogenoplatinic acid with a specific compd.
CONSTITUTION: A platinum complex of the formula [wherein B is a phenyl-(1-4C)-alkyl group optionally substd. in the phenyl nucleus by R1 (R1 is H, halogen, trihalomethyl, 1-6C alkyl, hydroxy, 1-6C alkoxy, or 2-6C alkanoyloxy), or B together with the structural part: H2N-CR2 < forms a tetrahydroisoquinoline group if B contains benzyl, R2 is hydrogen, and the benzyl group in the 2-position contains the CH2 group, or B together with the structural part: -CR2 < represents a tetrahydronaphthyl, decahydronaphthyl, or indanyl group; R2 is H, 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, or phenyl-(1-4C)-alkyl; R3 and R4 are each H, 1-12C alkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, or phenyl; and X is H or an anion] [e.g. D,L-1 -(4-chlorobenzyl)-2,2 -dimethylethylenediaminedichloroplatinum] is provided.
