To provide a method of easily recovering platinum metal having only little impurities by a simple treatment operation without using a special chemical agent.

The method of recovering the platinum includes: precipitating ammonium chloroplatinic acid by adding ammonium chloride to a platinum-containing solution; recovering the precipitate and dissolving the precipitate into hydrochloric acid acidic hot water; precipitating platinum thiourea complex by adding the thiourea into this solution; and recovering and calcinating the precipitate to recover the platinum powder. Preferably, the method for recovering the platinum includes: after repeating a process of adding the ammonium chloride to the platinum-containing solution and precipitating the ammonium chloroplatinic acid, recovering the precipitate and dissolving it into the hydrochloric acid acidic hot water, adding the thiourea to the solution, and precipitating the platinum thiourea complex.
