PURPOSE: To generate various effective sounds from the interior of a play apparatus for appealing to player's hearing by providing in a housing a control means which controls the motion of an imitation sound signal generating means in response to a physical action of the outside.

CONSTITUTION: The output of an impact sensor 6 is given to a control circuit 71 provided in a speech substrate 7. This control circuit 71 is constituted of an 1 chip microcomputer or logic circuit for example. Further, the speech substrate 7 is provided with a first speech circuit 72 as a first imitation sound signal generating means, a second speech circuit 73 as a second imitation sound signal generating means and an amplifier circuit 74. The first and second speech circuits 72 and 73 generate respectively the imitation signals for effective sounds and are constituted of speech synthesis LSI, etc. Hence, a play apparatus increasing interest and being difficultly tired of is provided, while it suggest a new play to substantially expand the width of play.
