Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple process for the easy pleating work of a cloth having high stiffness and composed of a thermoplastic fiber yarn by flattening and drawing the cloth in the direction of the fold.
SOLUTION: A hot-drawing blade is pressed against a plain weave fabric woven by using a thermoplastic fiber yarn such as polypropylene monofilament yarn as the warp and the weft and the fabric is flattened and drawn in the direction of the fold and heat-treated under folding to obtain a prescribed pleated cloth.
