To improve a plier and its operability, pressing force that is achieved, possibility of usage in a constricted space relationship, a possibility of usage of the plier for pressing a workpiece, for example, one or both of improvements in the maximum diameter to be pressed by the plier and a possibility of materials to be used, or to improve a using method of the plier including one of the above.
This plier (30) is for pressing by manual operation a workpiece such as a press mold, a frame, a pipe, an electric contact, a cable shoe, and a joint. A work process of press jaws (5, 6) is divided into a first process and a second process, and both the processes are performed under kinematics of different pressing forces. Thereby, pressing force achieved by the work processes is enhanced. Preferably, in particular, the plier (30) for a copper joint having a diameter of at least 20 mm is used.
