To provide pliers which can automatically open jaw parts.
The pliers include a pair of handles 1A and 1B having the upper and lower jaw parts 2A and 2B, a bolt 7, and a nut 8. The pliers have the pair of handles 1A and 1B rotatably journaled using the bolt 7 and the nut 8. A spring 9 is attached to the outer periphery of the bolt 7 for journaling the handles 1A and 1B, and the respective jaw parts 2A and 2B of the pair of handles 1A and 1B are opened using a resilient urging force of the spring 9 attached to the outer periphery. Thus, since an unnecessary increase in the number of components is prevented, the cost of the priers themselves becomes low, and assembly workability is extremely improved. Furthermore, since a limitation is not imposed on a storage space for the spring 9, permanent set in fatigue, which is caused by long-term use, can also be effectively prevented by virtue of the use of the relative large spring.
