CONSTITUTION: Vector information for constituting a single graphic inputted from a host computer 12 is stored in a RAM 26c, and a CPU 26a executes an operation, based on the stored vector information, and detects the maximum value and the minimum value of a graphic formed by this vector information. Subsequently, based on the maximum value and the minimum value, size of recording paper for outputting this vector information is determined. When the determined size of the recording paper is 'A3', the stored vector information is converted to raster information by a vector/raster conversion in a VRC 28, and thereafter, outputted to a laser engine 16 through a laser interface 20. On the other hand, when the size is 'AO', the information is outputted to an electrostatic engine 18 through an electrostatic interface 22 in the same way.
