Title:
PLUG AND JACK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2500299
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of the material required for the contact area of a plug engaged with an electric contact by using a retaining spring which retains the plug in a jack.
CONSTITUTION: A plug 940 has a printed wiring board 942 fixed between the two halves of a jacket 944 by means of a plurality of rivets 951-957. A retaining spring 948 retains a plug 940 in a jack in cooperation with a local member. This spring 948 also provides a connecting section between a connecting block and a grounding potential and the shield of a jumper cable 950 through a terminal. In addition, a chip terminal and a ring terminal are respectively connected to contact areas 964 and 961 through the printed wiring of the wiring board 942. These contact areas are engaged with each other through electric contacts in a monitor jack and an in-jack or out-jack when the plug 940 is inserted into the jacks.
