Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve a plug life and to efficiently obtain a stock pipe having good inside surface quality and dimensional accuracy by joining a tip part consisting of an Mo-base alloy to a plug body part consisting of an alloy having specific heat and tensile strength.
CONSTITUTION: This plug for a piercer is constituted by mounting the tip part 11 consisting of the Mo-base alloy to the plug body part 12 consisting of the alloy having ≥0.09cal/g°C specific heat at 20°C and ≥8kg/mm2 tensile strength at 1,100°C. The plug life is thereby improved and the production of a stainless steel pipe and superalloy pipe which are heretofore difficult to be produced is permitted.
