PURPOSE: To manufacture a plug for stirring molten metal capable of thermally spraying repairing the surrounding bricks with hardly generating sealing phenomenon, etc., at the time of applying the thermally spray-repairing to the worn recessed part of the surrounding bricks fitting the plug for stirring the molten to a vessel for molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: This plug is fitted to the bottom part or near the bottom part of the vessel for molten metal to blow inert gas into the molten metal in order to mainly stir the molten metal in the vessel. Then, in this plug 1 having a structure composed of a gas permeable part 1a for permeating the gas for stirring the molten metal at the center part and a nearly gas impermeable castable refractory part 1b at the outer peripheral part, residual moisture content in the castable refractory part 1b is defined as ≤0.7%, and at the time of manufacturing this plug, castable refractory part 1b is dried in the range of 100±10°C temp. for ≥18hr in a furnace.
