Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plugged honeycomb structure capable of effectively suppressing an elevation of a pressure loss generated by depositing particulate material on a barrier wall while suppressing the deterioration of a collection layer by reducing the maximum temperature upon regeneration.SOLUTION: A plugged honeycomb structure 100 includes: a porous partition wall matrix 1 which divides and forms a plurality of cells 2 extended from a first edge surface 11 to a second edge surface 12 as channels of fluid; a columnar honeycomb structure part 4 having a partition wall 10 which contains a porous collection layer 6 arranged on the surface of the partition wall matrix 1; and plugged parts 5 which are arranged on an opening part of prescribed cells 2b on the first edge surface 11 and an opening part of remaining cells 2a on the second edge surface 12. Therein, the partition wall matrix 1 contains α-AlOas a main phase and further is made of a porous body containing aluminum titanate and glass.
