Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtian adaptation to the transmission rate between two modems (local modem and remote modem) by representing a higher transmission rate as a function of the quality of a line and the throughput performance of the modems. SOLUTION: The transmission system for transmission between devices 1 and 2 is so provided as to transmit an information signal at a common bit rate. This bit rate depends upon a symbol rate and a carrier frequency. The maximum possibly bit rate is determined through the processing of a processor 9 which cooperates with an instruction memory 10 so as to exchange information signals between terminal devices.
