PURPOSE: To make it possible to stand the upper half of the body by discharging the air in a lower half pneumatic chamber if required, by a method wherein the inside of a pneumatic mattress body is divided widthwise into upper half and lower half pneumatic chambers, and individual air-supplying and discharging ports are respectively provided on these pneumatic chambers, and when expanded, the pneumatic mattress body becomes in a specified size in thickness.

CONSTITUTION: For a mattress body 1, a surface side sheet 2, a bottom side sheet 3, front and rear side sheets 4 and right and left side sheets 5 are connected with one another and stuck airtightly, and the outer side thereof is formed. The inside of this mattress 1 is isolated widthwise with a partition sheet 7, and is divided into an upper half pneumatic chamber 8 and a lower half pneumatic chamber 9, and individual air-supplying and discharging ports 10, 11 are respectively provided on both of these pneumatic chambers 8, 9. When expanded, the mattress body 1 attains a thickness of 30cm or more, and when the air in the lower half pneumatic chamber 9 is discharged in the state of a person's lying face up, the lower half of the body lowers and it is made possible to stand the upper half of the body because the partition sheet 7 is provided at the place at which a part ranging from the hips to the waist of the body laid on the mattress body 1 exists.
