Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire low in both air resistance value and rolling resistance to enable securement of low fuel consumption and vehicle space, and improved in cornering power and abrasion resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a pneumatic radial tire for passenger vehicle. The tire is characterized in that: a ratio of the sectional width to the outer diameter of the tire is 0.24 or less; a half part of at least one side of a tread 7 has the circumferential main grooves 8a, 8b, 8c departing from a tread end in 25% or more of a tread width TW; among the land parts adjacent to the tread end side land parts 9 partitioned by the tread end side main grooves, the adjacent land part in one half part of a tire equator face has at least one lateral groove 10 which extends from the tread end side main groove to the inside in a tread width direction and stays in the adjacent land part; the adjacent land part is a rib-like land part; and the adjacent land part of the tread in the other half part of the tire equator face as a boundary has no lateral groove.
